As many startups, the journey started in a little garage in the beautiful alps region of Innsbruck (Austria) in 2016. The founder, Marco Riedesser, was tasked by a friend to fix an expensive coffee machine that broke down.
He wanted to solve the issue with Arduino, as he not only planned to fix the machine, but also add some cool features that make use of the Arduino’s flexibility and connectivity.
To achieve his goal, he needed something more robust… something that’s suited for industrial and rugged use cases, with good electronic safety measures. Just using an Arduino with some relay boards and modules was not an option for such an expensive piece of hardware. Surprised that there was nobody in the market that produced industrial controllers based on an open platform like Arduino, he thought: “Why not build it myself?”
This is the story on how CONTROLLINO came into existence.😊
CONTROLLINO has since transformed from a garage project startup into a thriving international business. What started as Marco’s vision to create a robust, Arduino-compatible industrial controller has now become a reality embraced by industries worldwide. Our range of products, from the MINI to the MEGA, cater to a wide array of industrial applications, from automotive to areospace, making automation accessible and customizable for businesses of all sizes.
